Economy
Lusatia? Was there something? No, there is something. And a lot: Here, every year innovative companies are created. Often spin-offs or cooperations with universities and often shaped by engineering. Tourism is developing. But there is as well a group of people in their best age, who - after their journey into the wide world striving for education and their first professional experiences - have re-established themselves and are now advertising, designing clothing, develop tourism, gastronomy and/or trade, organize art and culture, but also found and establish industrial companies. The economy is becoming more specialized, more unique and therefore more diverse. Why is this something special? Because until today Lusatia is one of the most important energy and industrial regions of Eastern Germany. Brown coal is still mined in surface mines and used in modern power plants for safe and reliable power generation. The power plants are state-of-the-art. In addition, you will find here plastics and chemical industries with modern mechanical and plant engineering, where for example pipes, plastics, railcars and wind turbine blades are produced, as well as machines, accumulators, trains and batteries for electromobility. Why here? Because you can do it here! People love their industrial workplaces, because they are paid well, and you can really make a difference - if you want. Lusatia has rapidly developed into Germany's energy and industrial region and had to cope in the early 1990s with an even more rapid structural break. The employment agency recently reported "Structural transformation completed". Today, the employment agency does no longer regard itself as the administrator of hopeless unemployment, as it looked like in the early 1990s. Today, the agency finds desperately sought-after professionals for companies that offer many, many well-remunerated, responsible jobs in a booming economy. And there are still too few specialists. That's why Lusatia is an insider tip. Not only for investors, who find excellent conditions here, but especially for people who want to live and work in Lusatia, who want to see their children and grandchildren grow up in a beautiful region. And what if there is another structural transformation? We believe, that our performance and passion will boost again Lusatia's economy. We are already taking the first steps for that and start-ups find excellent conditions here.
By the way: Lusatia is also an absolute insider tip for culinary delights: Pulsnitz gingerbread, Lusatian fish, Lusatian linseed oil, mineral water from Bad Liebenwerda and the Spree Woods cucumbers as well as rusk from Neunkirchen are world-famous. You will find real Lusatian chocolate here as well as fruit juices and of course, as it should be, the legendary Lusatian Landskron beer. Equally interesting are the small, very, very regional producers: Small craft beer factories, jams and spread manufacturers, distilleries, "transparent" dairies and much more
